Who We Are

The Friends of Larimer County Parks and Open Lands (FLCPOL) are comprised of individuals just like you, who love the unique parks and open spaces of Larimer County.

Established in 2004, two years later FLCPOL helped raise more than $130,000 in a few weeks to ensure the purchase of Hermit Park when Agilent Technologies offered to sell the former Hewlett Packard site, located southeast of Estes Park, CO.

Today, the goal for FLCPOL is clear: as a 501 ( c ) non-profit we raise funds to support Larimer County parks and open spaces beyond what the Help Preserve Open Space ¼-cent sales tax initiative generates.

Additionally, FLCPOL secures additional funding through grants not available to the county government. These funds and tax-deductible donations directly benefit a variety of Department of Natural Resources projects.

It is extremely rewarding to see Hermit Park Open Space conserved and beloved by our community residents as well as visitors from around the country, enjoying the fabulous hiking and mountain biking trails and all the camping recreational opportunities it has to offer!”
